30 Days of September: Days 8-10
Today is the 2nd Sunday in September. Fall is in the air. The weather today has been cool, even a bit chilly this morning. I wore my olive-drab coat that I’ve treasured for a few years now.
This morning we walked to get a coffee and crumpet. Not actual crumpets, but deliciously buttery and flakey baked goods from Sub Rosa. If you are in the Richmond, VA area, it is on my must go-to list. They have sweets, savories, and crusty breads that you can smell from around the corner.
The first two days of the weekend were filled with adventures and meetups with friends. Friday evening, we headed to the local Armenian food festival with friends who newly moved to Richmond. We waited in line for a buffet of home-cooked Armenian dishes. We also got to see friends for a drink on the way home. The food and conversation warmed my heart, a perfect way to end the week.
Saturday we got up, tidied a bit, made breakfast, went thrifting (found an AMAZING antique ovenware bowl for $3), ate lunch at Supper in town. Then we met up with even more friends for a bit of cidery & brewery hopping. Our day was memorable, telling stories, laughing (a lot) and soaking up a beautiful sunny afternoon. To finish up the day we visited friends for a birthday celebration. Even with such a full day we attempted to stay up and watch an episode of our current favorite show, Outlander. Despite our best efforts, we fell asleep half-way through.
That brings us back to today, Sunday. A beautiful September day. It’s hard to believe it’s been almost one week since Michael asked me to be his partner for life. I still am not used to looking down and seeing the ring. I catch myself staring at it while I’m typing at work.
Banana bread is in the oven, making our little apartment feel even more cozy. The windows are open, the cool air is amazing. The little kitties are content and napping. My heart is so full.
Wishing you an amazing week ahead.
